The Matrix Revolutions- The final chapter in the Wachowski brothers trilogy
has taken a huge £18M so far in the UK alone and its release is much anticipated
on video. With some of the most spectacular fight sequences and special effects
ever committed to film, the mind blowing story finally concludes as Neo
(Reeves), Trinity (Moss) and Morpheus (Fishburne) continue their fight against
the Alien oppressors. Without doubt the biggest film of April2004. Full

BIG Fish - Edward Bloom (Albert Finney/Ewan McGregor) has always been an amazing story-teller about his travels as a young boy, from his epic journey around the world to the colourful characters he met. The only person un-impressed by his larger- than- life tales is his estranged son, Wil (Billy Crudup). When the pair are unexpectedly reunited, Will must learn to separate fact from fiction to understand his father. This magical adventure has an all star cast including Danny DeVito, Helena Bonham Carter and Steve Buscemi. |
Tears Of The Sun - Navy S.E.A.L lt. Waters (Bruce Willis) is sent to war
torn Africa to rescue Dr. Lena Hendricks (Monica Bellucci- The Matrix
Revolutions), a U.S. citizen who runs a mission looking after refugees. However,
when the doctor refuses to abandon those in her care, lt. Waters must choose
between his original mission and his conscience. This compelling story has both action and drama.–

Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake - Based on a true story, this is
the grisly remake of the original film that spawned the slash/teen horror genre.
Appealing to a modern audience who will be intrigued to see this notorious tale
for themselves, this is still shocking stuff.

Terminator
3 - Twenty years have passed since
John Conner saved mankind from mass destruction. But he is faced with his
biggest challenge yet when the most sophisticated Cyborg killing machine ever,
the T-X (played by model Kristanna Loka), arrives from the future to slay the
future rebel leader and bring forth Judgement Day. Conner only has one chance of
stopping the un-stoppable machine- he must team up with his former enemy, The
Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger). Together they must triumph over the superior
killing machine to save mankind once more. With out of this world special
effects, this is edge of your seat stuff. Arnie brings his most famous role back
to life with obvious relish, while Clare Danes supports. This took a massive £17M
and is a favourite choice.

In The Cut - Meg Ryan loses her clean cut Hollywood image in
this steamy serial killer thriller. Ryan plays Frannie, a lonely New Yorker who
closely follows the homicide investigation of a woman in her neighbourhood who
has been viciously murdered. As the death toll keeps rising, Frannie embarks on
a turbulent affair with the chief investigating officer- but she soon starts to
doubt her safety and the motives of her new lover. This disturbing psychological
thriller will keep viewers guessing until the end and is sure to attract plenty
of attention.

X-Men 2- the much-anticipated sequel
to the original X-Men bursts onto the small screen with an explosion of
excitement and action. The mutant X-Men are under threat of extinction from a
mysterious government conspiracy and their only hope of survival is too unite
their strange powers against the un-seen enemy to prevent a disastrous war. The
amazing special effects and incredible action sequences will keep everyone
entertained, while the fantastic cast including Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman and Sir Ian McKellen will certainly attract a wide audience. Taking a massive
£21M at the UK box office, this took more than its predecessor and is one of
the biggest films of 2003. Fox are really pushing this title with an enormous marketing budget, so X-pect
interest to be huge. A DVD To Rent Now!

Uptown Girls - When Manhattan princess Molly (Brittany Murphy- 8 Mile), finds her accountant has stolen her inheritance from her late rock-star father, she is forced to get a ‘proper’ job. Being nanny to Ray, a precocious-nine-year old girl, is not exactly her idea of fun, but soon the un-likely pair get over their control issues and temper tantrums and find they actually get along! As Molly learns to grow up, she teaches Ray how to be a young girl. This feel good modern day fairy-story took £1M in the UK and will have you laughing and crying throughout! Brittany Murphy will be a strong rental draw for a female audience. |
Calendar Girls – When twelve members of a local charity, the Women’s
Institute, decide they need to find a new way to raise money for a worthy cause,
they come up with a novel idea for their annual calendar. Keeping their traditional pictures of
cooking, flower arrangements and country scenes, the one difference is…..the
women are naked! Based on a real-life heart-warming story, this quirky comedy
stars Julie Walters and Helen Mirren. Guaranteed to delight a wide audience,
this is essential viewing. - |

Touching The Void- this BAFTA winning film follows the journey
of two young mountaineers, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, whose climbing adventure
in Peru turned into a fight for survival after a near fatal accident. Receiving
great critical acclaim, Touching The Void documents an inspiring true story of
human endurance and un-breakable spirit against the odds. |
